my favorite song

we live in a time where "having faith" is frequently spoken of...this faith has come to mean many different things to many different people...it has been so commonly spoken of that it has become a cliche that all religions are able to use...it has been so widely used because it is perceived to unite people that fundamentally believe, or put their "faith" in different things...so instead of recognizing that the object of faith is different, which causes division, the fact that one has "faith" is brought to the forefront...that is where the phrase "faith in faith" is derived...the object of the faith, is, well faith...it doesn't really matter what you believe, only that you believe something...

my typers cannot delve into the subject of the beliefs of different religions and what exactly these religions teach people to believe in, or what they teach people to do...exhaustion from typing would occur...and frustration from careful editing would result...anyway...

a large portion of people in the united states believe it is good to believe in something...to be a person of faith...our new president has christian faith...and even mispeaks of his muslim faith...many of our most popular cultural figures such as oprah promote being a person of faith...like it or not...this is the time in which we live...a time that promotes the philosophy that we should have faith...faith in what?...it doesnt matter...just have faith in faith...

from the time man began to record his thoughts etc in book form...whether philosopher, historian, scientist, clergy...three basic questions have always arisen:

1. where did we come from?
2. why are we here?
3. where are we going?

evolutionists put their faith in a little tiny something that exploded...a big bang to be exact...now gathering information on where that little itty bitty thing came from is rather difficult...nonetheless, they put their faith in that occurrence...humanists will teach that we should put our faith in our own ability to reason...and to the question of where we are going...well we know that thenumber of grains of sand on the beach reflect the amount of theories that man has come up with to answer that question...

so why this blog?...when i created my facebook page i linked my blog...i didnt even think about who would click on the link...it is a part of my daily life and culture...i have been amazed at how many people i have been able to catch up with...some i had not spoken to in years...and recently some of these people have commented on pics or posts from this blog...people i never would have guessed would be reading it when i typed it...i usually try to cater my blogs for the "regular" audience...some of my world overlaps this span of time...but much of it does not...old friends and new friends...yesterdays and todays...much is different...so why this blog?

this is to let anyone who is "catching up" with me know that i believe we are here because the God of the Bible created us...we are here on earth to have a relationship with Him because He loves us...this relationship is made possible thru Jesus Christ...and that His will for us is to spend eternity with Him in heaven after this vapor of a life is over...the Bible is the only book that answers these three questions with a cohesive thought and purpose...and that is because it is God's Word to us...all other attempts to answer these three questions leads to faith in faith...i made a simple decision march 10, 1985 to put my faith in the fact that Jesus Christ came to earth to trade His righteousness for my sin so that i could be reconciled to God...Jesus Christ died in Jerusalem some 2000 years ago...and three days later He defeated death and arose from his grave...and now He is in heaven preparing a place for those who put their faith in Him... my testimony is this...that "my redeemer lives!"
