from the title i am sure you would never guess the subject matter to which it refers...it is the beginning to a sermon subtitle by the late John R. Rice...

wow...what a sermon title...

by the way...you ever wondered why "old" people, perhaps your grandparents even have such a distaste for "dancing", "gambling" etc...perhaps it is because men such as Rice...popular, "fundamental", "conservative", "baptist" men were their spiritual leaders such as pastors, evangelists etc...these men had great influence, and rightly so...but these men sometimes failed to differentiate between things such as dance and adultery...

by no means am i promoting "bumpin' & grindin" the way these crazy kids do...that is not my point...i am not even defending dancing...

i have a 44 page booklet in front of me that is full of quotes such as:
"Wild parties, Adultery, Murder, Idolatry, Drunkenness, Nakedness, All Connected With the Dance"...

for most of us this is a non-issue...but we still dwell with people, mostly older, who still believe that quote...they see very little distinction, if any, between the things listed and dance...just a side note...you could also substitute sex for dance in that equation...and last time i checked sex wasn't wrong...

these same philosophies were boldly present in just about every church like the ones that most of us attend...

anyway...i have to finish this pamphlet...this stuff is like dessert for me...maybe tomorrow i will find one on gamblin' or drinkin'...

by the way...dance however you want to with your spouse...spend your money wisely...and don't drink enough to get drunk if you choose to drink...
