i found the evidence

for many years the philosophy of "wearing your ""best"" to church" has always intrigued me...usually when i hear this, no scripture is ever given in support...so i naturally assumed that this philosophy was bogus and had no scriptural basis...boy was i wrong...after a closer look at the Bible...after a deeper investigation...this is what i found...

gen.3...after adam and eve sinned and their eyes were opened to discern good and evil...they went to sew a nice suit and dress out of fig leaves so when God found them He would see those nice fig fashions and be pleased...but as we all know...the fig fashion wasnt nice enough for God...so he made them a suits of "skins"...i am sure they were nice double breasted wool suits...

gen.4...cain and abel...what was the difference...abel knew that in order to be accepted he had to have a tie on...duh...

gen.6...we do not know much about the ark...but we can be assured that entrance into the ark was based on who was wearing their "best"...

gen.9...if noah would have been sleeping with his suit on...the whole mess would have never happened...try pulling a suit off a sleeping man!...

gen.10...why were the people at Babel so evil...you ever tried to work in a suit and tie...or ladies you ever built a tower with a dress on...they obviously were only wearing "Work Clothes"...

LETS PICK UP THE PACE...CHAPTER BY CHAPTER WILL TAKE ALL DAY...

gen.37...did joseph deserve to be sold into slavery...he obviously wasnt following dress code...coat of many colours...should have been navy blue from JC Penneys

num.13...why were the giants always big bad guys...no one had made suits that big before...

john 24...i have always wondered why john outran peter to the empty tomb...was john faster?...did he love Jesus more?...etc...now i know...peter went home to put his "best" on so if perhaps Jesus did raise and saw him he would be in proper attire...

i could go on for days being sarcastic and facectious...here is why i type...we all know wearing "better" clothes does not please God...the word "best" so often quoted is so relative, even humanists cannot even comprehend it...so why do many people, mostly older, still believe it!

for one reason very few people will tell them they have been lied to by preachers their whole lives...they might have been blue collar through the week...but "BY GOD" it better be white collar on sunday...

i think even the people that know it is not "doctrine" still fill their speech with undertones that it is "better"...I KNOW IT STILL GOES ON!

it has always amazed me that Jesus and Paul never spoke of the way we ought to dress in church...Jesus never told anyone to change their clothes...and some that believe we should wear our "best" to church assume that when that jean wearing sinner gets saved God will clean his heart and then he will be convicted to cut his hair and wear his "best"...

this isnt harp on old peoples STUPID "churchical" philosophies day...

lets make sure that we add nothing to christianity...which is CHRIST...that our kids will blog about being stupid in 20 years...

i typed this because i sat in church the other day...and tried to view what we do at church from an unchurced persons point of view...we do many things that are just odd...some are a good odd...and some are a bad odd...

another thing...this is less biblical, or should i say, non-biblical...wearing a tie with khaki's and a shirt doesn't "dress it up"...it says, why is that guy with normal clothes wearing a tie that belongs to mr. suit...to wear a tie, it must have the company of its friend the suit...that matches...not different pants and jackets...but matching...anyway...just my opinion...
