as of tomorrow...i am a bachelor once again...but trust me...it is for the best...sipping on natural fruit drinks in a hammock at the beach is nothing compared to home maintenance and repair...
i remember along time ago...i was probably 10 or 11...walking out of HSBC on a sunday morning after church...we were leaving during the prayer before the invitation to beat the crowd to watch the lakers & celtics playoff game...back when the playoffs meant something...magic - bird...those were the days...by the way...i do not condone leaving early unless it is of the utmost importance...like the lakers & celtics...anyway...
back to the story...there was an older man in the parking lot leaning up against his car in a cowboy hat smoking a cigarette...i couldnt believe that someone would smoke in the church parking lot...it is funny to look back at my perception of that event...i would have voted that the man couldnt be a "christian"if i were asked...it is not like i was offended...i just used what i had been taught or percieved thru my short life around church to discern the situation...and i had extended family that smoked...so it is not i was sheltered from smoking...i am sure that the drastic evil of smoking was a mis-perception on my part...i am sure that i would have never picked up the idea from being around church...looking back...it is funny to me that i remember hearing of the evils of drugs, alcohol, smoking etc... but cannot for the life of me hearing a word against overeating, eating disorders, cannibalism etc...
i think the moral of the story is: i sure am glad fat people, pukers and cannibals didnt smoke cigarettes or snort crack because of the strong influence of the church against such things in the last few decades...
