best birthday ever, well maybe...Pt. 2

for context refer to previous post...so i played another qualifier tournament last night...by the way...if you dont want to read about my life & poker, you might want to skip this post...anyway...so the tournament was a $10 buy-in...3,000 chips...blinds start at 10-20, and double every 5 minutes...there is also a beginning $10 add-on that starts you with 6,000 in chips...anytime you drop below 3,000 you can add 3,000 more for $10...i started with the original $10 buy-in, with the mindset "if i bust out, i'm out"...it is so easy to be into this kind of tournament for $100+...the play is loose and fast...the tournament had 117 people, 491 re-buys, and 33 ad-ons...an add-on is after the break, $10 for 30,000 in chips...at the break i was 6th out of about 40...after the add-ons i dropped to late 20's etc...so i spent the $10 and went back to 6th place...

i made it thru to the final table (9 players) as the shortstack with about 120,000 in chips...i soon made it to the final 3...

by this point i knew that the winner won the LAPT Costa Rica package, $4,000+ and 2nd place got $420 in cash...3rd NOTTA...

i had around 220,000 and shortly doubled up to 500,000 in chips...2nd had about 750,000 and 1st place about 1.2M...i pick up AQ and move all in...2nd place calls with AJ...flop K 4 J...so now i begin to plead with my laptop to give me a Q or a 10...if you ask your laptop, you might not receive...just in case you were wondering...i finished in 3rd...by the way, AQ vs. AJ is about 71%-23% and 6% of the time it will be a split pot...

in my previous post i mentioned taking 37 out of 233 in one of these and mentioned that was close enough to make it torturous...3rd almost made me puke...literally...the adrenaline mixed with the disappointment...not a great combination...

i guess i had to type this for therapeutic reasons...and perhaps this exertion will prevent me from boring someone else with a poker story of myself, 3rd place, blah blah blah...
