aquilla and priscilla were married tentmakers...they had been thrown out of rome by the decree of claudius because they were jews...usually the jews were persecuted because satan hates them because of their importance to God...but this time it is likely that because of their insuborination to the authority of rome, that claudius just got sick of them and threw them out of the city...paul and peter both knew the tendency of the jews to be unsubmissive to civil authorities, that is why romans 13 and peter 2 were written...anyway...
aquilla and priscilla were thrown out of rome and ended up in corinth, where they met paul...they met because they had the same trade as tentmakers...over the next year and a half, paul would become very close to aquilla and priscilla...so much so, that when paul left to journey to ephesus that they went with him...the last time we read of aquilla and priscilla chronologically they had traveled back to rome...and in romans chapter 16...paul mentions that they had risked their own lives for him...
aquilla and priscilla were tentmakers...tentmakers who expounded the way of God more perfectly to apollos...tentmakers who had a church in their house in ephesus...tentmakers...just tentmakers...
i think God is still ready to use "regular ole' tentmakers" to do His work all around the world...
