my two cents worth

ole' honest abe...most of our grandparents were depression era babies...they might not have been born during, but were born just after...anyway...so, they have a little different view of the penny than we do...they witnessed their parents "pinching pennies" and continue to use phrases like "a penny saved is a penny earned"...

it costs the u.s. mint 1.4 cents cents to make a penny...so every100,000 pennies they make costs 140,000...for every 10,000,000 pennies made it costs them 14,000,000...so in my opinion it is just a bunch on noncents:)

the reason for this blog is that i hate dealing with pennies...in fact, if you look younger than 50, you probably will either be short or over changed at 3rd St. Books depending on the final amount...for instance...if your total is $7.59 and you give me a $20...your change due to you is $12.41...i would give you $12.40...but!!!...if you were do back $12.43...you would recieve $12.45...

getting rid of the penny...well i am all for it...without sounding crass...we might have to wait until the "pinchers" are gone...

later from 3rd St.
