if you are not familiar with Ian R. K. Paisley...please familiarize yourself with him...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Paisley ...in my lifetime, he is one of the only men in politcis that i have full conviction that is a true follower of Jesus Christ...a man not full of lip service to win an election...but a man of action serving the Lord Jesus Christ...
i will soon begin teaching thru Romans...so i have begun to study...
i usually brouse thru 3 or 4 commentaries and bible dictionaries to make sure i have a good understanding of the historical background of the book i am teaching...before interacting with the text...i wanted to make sure i knew when and where and why etc. paul wrote to the community of believers in rome...
so i pulled off the shelf..."An Exposition of the Epistle to the Romans" by Ian R. K. Paisley...i was disappointed to find no background material, but i kept thumbing thru out of curiosity...and i noticed the subtitle and preface...Paisley wrote this while in prison in 1966...he was wrongfully imprisoned...but that is for another day...anyway
speaking of paul, from verse 1 of chapter 1, paisley wrote, "Bought by his master's money. ""Ye are not your own for ye are bought with a price"", I Cor.6:19-20. The price is not silver or gold but the precious blood of the Lamb. Wondrous Grace! So great a price for so worthless a person!"
like paul, paisley has served his Master thru many uproars and tribulations...
i do not know your story...but i am a wretch saved by His amazing grace...i needed this reminder!

In 1973 I heard Ian Paisley speak on Isaiah 53 and Hebrews 12:1-3. That one sermon changed my direction in life.
