carter, since his presidency has done much to improve humanitarianism around the world...he has written numerous books in the last 10 years...it is not hard to get published when you are a former president...Our Endangered Values is a loose and rambling account of carter's religious beliefs and a short and wanting view of our society today in america...just a note...carter does claim Jesus as Saviour but denies the infallibility of Scripture as we have it today...to hear what carter picks and chooses to believe from the bible is very interesting...
i am currently in the middle of this...and it is fascinating...mansfield was fired from harvard for publishing this book...a mere formality rather than a result of a wide and deep offense...the "hussy" feminists screemed bloody murder...anyway...yale published the book, so i guess the whole academic community was not too deeply offended...anyway...this is a great read...it is now regarded as one of the best books on manliness or masculinity...
